Diarmuid is joint owner and Managing Director of the business, with many years of experience growing and developing the business alongside his brother Micheal. Diarmuid has a keen eye for ensuring the smooth, day-to-day running of the company as well as taking care of ongoing compliance with regulatory authorities.
He works together with the company’s customer and supplier base, making sure their requirements are not just met, but exceeded. Talk to Diarmuid and you’ll immediately see his huge passion for the environment and his interest in all things marine and nature. He’s an ambassador for protecting our coastal environment for the benefit of all and enjoys walking and travel. Family is everything to Diarmuid – along with great food, of course!

Micheál Kelly
Joint owner and Managing Director of Kelly Oysters, Micheál has a lifetime of experience with the company and oversees the farm’s day-to-day production. His priority is making sure all customer orders are filled, and requirements are met.
Micheál flies the flag high for Kelly Oysters and the oyster lifestyle: he is a former Irish and European Oyster-Opening Champion and has been awarded the title of ‘Best Presentation in the World.’
As well as the sea, Micheál has a deep love for farming the land and between oysters he keeps busy with his cow and sheep farm.

Theresa Kelly
Where would we be without the keen eye of Office Manager Theresa who looks after the day-to-day operations at Kelly Oysters. Her incredible attention for detail makes sure we don’t miss a beat. Theresa is married to Diarmuid and works hard behind the scenes looking after accounts and our export customers.
Away from work Theresa enjoys baking, walking, gardening and travelling. And like all Kelly kin, she has a real love for great food and can often be found

Mary Kelly
A member of the company with vast experience in many facets of the business, Mary is our Order Manager and processes all incoming orders and telesales.
A true Galway woman, Mary loves sport and has represented Ireland at Field Hockey. These days a relaxing round of golf is more her scene!

Michael Kelly
Michael is the Farm and Dispatch Manager, with experience working in various roles within the company. One of his key responsibilities is ensuring all oysters are in prime and perfect condition for every shipment that leaves the farm.
Michael is also the company’s Experience Manager and works hard to develop and deliver premium tours for those who visit our farm. A man famed for his passion for oyster opening, Michael has even shucked Oysters on the Great Wall of China – while he also received the ‘Best Presentation Award’ at the European Oyster Opening Championships 2024. Michael’s favourite sport is hurling, and he plays for his local team, Ballinderreen.
